What will EBS be like in 2028? In 2023, ebsters peeked into the future and predicted what life will look like in EBS in five years.

1. What kind of teaching methods will be used in EBS?
I’m convinced EBS will be at the forefront of educational innovation by 2028. We’re likely to see a significant shift towards digital learning platforms, with a strong emphasis on virtual reality and AI in teaching methods.

2. When will EBS launch its first virtual programme or curriculum?
I think we could see EBS launching its first fully virtual programme as early as 2026. It will likely focus on global business management, appealing to an international audience.

3. What is the essential skill set that lecturers will need to possess to be successful at EBS?
Lecturers will need to be highly adaptable to new technologies. Skills in digital proficiency, along with the ability to foster critical thinking and innovation, will be key.

4. What will the three biggest nationalities in EBS be?
While the majority of students will still be Estonian, I expect EBS to become even more diverse and international in terms of nationalities. We’ll likely see a significant presence of students from various other countries around the globe.

5. Who among the ebsters has what it takes to become the president of a country, and if they do, then which country?
There are definitely some that could. We have a lot of excellent, goal-oriented, ambitious leaders among our students and alumni. But it’s hard to pinpoint who exactly. The qualities EBS encourages are the kind that could lead someone to such a prestigious position, most likely in Estonia or another progressive European country.

6. What will be the most popular programme or curriculum among prospective students, and why?
I think the ‘Impactful Entrepreneurship’ programme is likely to be the most popular. Its unique approach, focusing on digitalisation and practical skills, really meets the current demands of students who want to be future-ready entrepreneurs.

7. Where and how will EBS celebrate its 40th birthday?
I’m picturing a big event that merges the virtual and physical realms, possibly hosted at a significant cultural site in Tallinn.

8. Which currency will tuition fees be paid in?
While the euro will likely remain the standard, I wouldn’t be surprised if EBS starts accepting cryptocurrencies, given the digital trend.

9. Will EBS have a therapist on staff?
I’m sure EBS will emphasise mental health, possibly with a modest wellness centre with professional therapists on hand.

10. What will EBS be famous for, and why?
I think EBS will be known for its strong integration of AI and virtual reality in its teaching methods. Alongside this, its new campus building will play a big part. It’ll be modern and very tech-friendly, reflecting EBS’s focus on practical and forward-thinking education. It’s not just about appearing futuristic: it’s about creating a space that supports teaching goals and students’ needs.

11. Will defending a Master’s thesis be necessary for a Master’s degree?
Defending a thesis might remain the staple, but I expect there’ll be a shift towards more practical, real-world problem-solving projects.

12. What kind of new traditions will have emerged in EBS?
I think the Haba Gala will continue to be one of its key traditions. It’s a favourite among students, teachers and alumni, bringing our community together. While it might evolve with new elements, its essence as a celebration of our achievements and connections will remain unchanged.

13. Will EBS have its first robotic students?
I doubt we’ll see any robotic students at EBS by 2028. But by the time we celebrate our 50th anniversary, that could very well be a reality.

14. What will students be doing to keep themselves in shape during the exam period?
Apart from the traditional methods, I think we’ll see the use of safe neurostimulation devices, supported by healthy lifestyle choices.
